General Business News
BTC spent most of the week in a crabwalk through the mid-$60k’s, only to break lower early Tuesday and close out around -5% near $63k. Altcoins had the rougher ride, with HYPE the standout on the downside, sliding close to -13% to about $54 as the rest of the large caps drifted down alongside it. SHIB briefly broke rank with a near +28% run midweek, though it handed most of that back once the selling took hold. The loudest news came from off the charts, as BitMEX, the exchange that gave crypto the perpetual swap, said it will wind down on September 23rd after eleven years. Sentiment moved in step, with Fear and Greed lifting from the low 20s to 30 before Tuesday's slide knocked it back down.
SideShift’s gross volume closed the week at $4.47m, a shade lower at -0.5%, but that flat total masking a change that occurred behind the curtain. User shifting grew +5.8% to $3.77m while liquidity shifting fell -24.5% to $700k, so the steady headline was really users picking up the slack as the liquidity side stepped back, with the daily average holding near $638k. The leading user shift pairs carried a defensive lean, with the two heaviest being BTC/USDT(TRC20) at $137.8k and ETH/USDT(ERC-20) at $113.5k as holders moved out of majors and into stablecoins on the way down. Stablecoin-to-stablecoin shifts across USDT networks filled out much of the rest, with a lone SOL/ETH rotation the only real coin-for-coin swap near the top, fitting a week where users were mostly trimming down, not chasing anything.

Shift count landed at 6,555, up +5.2%, with the daily pace near 936. The growth was entirely a small-shift affair, with sub-$100 and low-thousands tickets both climbing while everything above $10k dropped back once more. That top end is where the week reads quietest, as just a handful of shifts cleared $50k across all seven days, while the $10k-plus cohort kept sliding to its lightest showing in months. The pattern has held for weeks now, a steady floor of smaller shifts underneath a top end that has slowed to a crawl.

BTC stayed atop the pack at $949k, though a -20.8% week saw it give back much of the rebound it managed seven days earlier and slip back under a million, a level it sat comfortably above for most of the spring. Its user volume tilted to deposits, measuring at $485k in against $286k settled. SOL was the far livelier name, jumping +54.9% to $846k, and while BTC was being sold, SOL was being bought, drawing close to $500k in user settlements against just $210k in deposits. That is accumulation into a falling price, and it finally broke SOL clear of the $450k to $550k range it had circled since early summer, carrying it up among the leaders.
Stablecoins filled the middle of the table, with USDT(TRC20) holding second place at $934k and retaining its title as the most demanded stablecoin overall on SideShift, as its settlements once again edged its deposits by about +10%. L-USDT was the group's mover, up +28.4% to $871k on the strength of decent inflows, with its steady integration-led climb of the past couple of months still ongoing. The more interesting change sat just outside the top five, where USDC(ERC-20) dropped out altogether and sank to around $404k, its quietest showing in over ten weeks, while USDT(BSC) did the reverse and pushed up to $556k, its busiest in the same window. The direction is clear enough, users keep consolidating into USDT across its networks while USDC on Ethereum steadily loses its place.

The network table saw a changing of the guard at the top, with the Solana network overtaking the Tron network as the busiest alternative to Ethereum, climbing +14.8% to $1.30m while Tron slipped -19.7% to $1.27m after holding a clear lead the week before. The BSC network kept its run going in third, up +20.1% to $661k, while the Arbitrum network jumped +56.8% to $214k and Polygon gave back -27.7% to $263k. Robinhood was the one to watch, though, as in only its second week live its volume more than tripled to $99k, and more striking still was its shift count of 300, close to 5% of the entire week's total and a heavy share for a newcomer, marking it out as a high-traffic, small-ticket network with an average shift around $330. Across the wider group the alternatives collectively added +1.4% to $3.96m even as the Ethereum network itself fell -5.6% to $2.12m.

Affiliate News
No newcomers cracked the top three this week, though the order behind the leader reshuffled, with second and third swapping seats. The leading affiliate held its position and rebounded +39.8% to $262k after a quiet week prior, but the one setting the pace was the affiliate that took second, up +27.0% to $213k on volume and a sharper +75.7% jump in shift count to 318, the steepest count rise in the group and the latest step in its climb from a minor name into the top tier over recent months. The affiliate it displaced slipped to third on a soft -6.0% to $164k, still holding the steady mid-six-figure pace it has run since its summer launch. Altogether the top affiliates grew +11.2% to a combined $1.30m, lifting their share of total platform volume to 29.2% from 26.1% a week earlier.

That’s all for now - thanks for reading and happy shifting.
