General Business News

The third week of July closed to mark a turning point, as BTC broke out above $66k with some confidence, a price it hadn't seen in over a month. The move had real appetite behind it, as eight weeks of outflows from its spot ETFs turned into five straight days of inflows, and most of the market followed the positive momentum. ETH reclaimed $1,900 for a +9% weekly gain, with others like ADA and LINK exceeding +10%, yet the boldest run of the week by far came from Pump.fun. Its native $PUMP token has now risen 40% on the week, with most of that coming on Monday after Ansem disclosed a $1.5m position and made his case, sending daily volume up over +500% as buyers piled in behind him.

SideShift ended the period with $4.49m in gross volume (-7.9%) for a $641k daily average, and another quiet showing amidst a market that has mostly gone nowhere this summer. Prices have drifted for weeks while sentiment sat in fear, only this week recovering to neutral as BTC finally cleared $66k, and platform volume has tracked that same low, unconvincing mood throughout. Most of the dip against last week traced back to a single partner, whose standout performance fell back to more usual levels. Set that aside and activity held broadly flat. User shifting reflected the visible drop at $3.56m (-15.6%) as liquidity shifting climbed to $928k (+41.1%), taking on heavier rebalancing while user shifts ran one-sided. Overall volume was spread thin across top user pairs, with BTC/USDC(ERC-20) scraping first at just $204k, ahead of a few stablecoin bridge pairs that barely cleared six figures.

Count hardly registered the week's move at 6,230 (-2.1%) for a daily average of 890, holding near steady while volume did the moving. The smaller trades that make up the bulk of activity were untouched, the sub-$100 band sitting almost exactly where it was last week at 3,767 shifts, and the brackets above it giving only marginally. What emptied out was the top - just three shifts cleared $50k for a combined $181k, and the $10k+ band count came in at 92, leaving the heavy tickets that swing volume largely missing while smaller trades carried on unchanged.

BTC returned to the head of the table, up +54.1% to $1.2m and off the previous week's $778k, one of its slowest of the year. The higher total was mostly from BTC being sold, with user deposits climbing +89% to $615k as settlements slid -34% to $266k. The platform already tilts toward a user preference for selling BTC across the summer, but this week ran about 45% steeper than that already deposit heavy norm. Stablecoins caught the other side of it, with their collective settlements doing the week's work. USDT(TRC20) held second place on a flat $1.19m headline that hid a shift of its own, with deposits cooling -24.7% while user settlements firmed +13.1%.

USDC(ERC-20) showed the same pull most plainly, up +89.7% to third place overall at $942k as settlements more than doubled to $394k against barely-moved deposits. Its ten-week range, anywhere from $500k to $5.3m, frames that as a return to a more typical form and no more. The remaining two stables that completed the top 5 each shed close to half their volume but split on opposite sides worth separating, USDT(ERC-20) falling -45.3% to $721k almost entirely on its deposit side (-60.9%), while L-USDT's -48.3% slide to $679k came off settlements alone (-81%), giving back the unusually heavy Liquid-network week it had just posted. Just below the top five, ETH was the odd one out, down -27% to $508k in a week its own price climbed, while SOL held firm at $547k.

Alt networks dropped to $3.84m (-5.1%), cushioned almost entirely by the Tron network, which climbed +13.3% to $1.58m while nearly everything around it fell. Tron extended its run as the largest and steadiest of the alt networks, a rare constant in a table that otherwise gave ground. The Solana network held second at $1.13m (-10.5%), lower than last week but comfortably in the upper half of its choppy mid-year range. BSC slipped to $551k (-14.5%) within its usual band, Polygon fell to $337k (-11.2%), and the Arbitrum network swung down to $136k (-42.0%), true to its habit of lurching week to week. The Ethereum network came in at $2.47m (-6.5%), landing just behind the alt sum once more. SideShift also added ETH support on the Robinhood Chain this week, and it has already started to find a footing, pulling just over 50 shifts and a mid-five-figure sum in its first six days.

Affiliate News

Affiliate volume came to $1.17m (-23.5%), the drop sitting entirely with the first-place partner, whose exceptional prior week gave way to a -76% fall to $187k that still left it narrowly on top. Behind it the order reshuffled upward, second place climbing +29.3% to $174k and third surging +74.5% to $168k to close much of the gap on the leader, the three now separated by less than $20k where a week ago first place stood alone. The count picture cut against volume one, with all three top spots handling fewer shifts than last week even as two earned more, a sign the leaders leaned on larger individual trades. All together, our top affiliates made up a lighter 26.1% of platform volume, down from 31.4% at the time of the last report.

That’s all for now - thanks for reading and happy shifting.
